Adjust V 2.12 - (C) DAK Ltd. - 1988 - 1990.
ADJUST.DOC for ADJUST v2.12
---------------------------
After hearing about a lot of interesting law suits in the US, I
guess that I'll better include this...
1.0 LIMITED WARRANTY. DAK Software does not warrant that the
functions contained in the software will meet your
requirements or that the operation of the software will be
uninterrupted or error free. The warranty does not cover any
media or documentation which has been subjected to damage or
abuse by you. The software warranty does not cover any copy
of the software which has been altered or changed in any way
by you or others. DAK Software is not responsible for

of the computer hardware or operating system which are made
after the delivery of the software.
2.0 DAK SOFTWARE SHALL NOT IN ANY CASE BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL,

ARISING FROM ANY BREACH OF THESE WARRANTIES EVEN IF DAK

SUCH DAMAGES.
Now that the crap is over..
After running X_List you can run Adjust to update your users
uploads/downloads according to whatever adjustment file X_List
have created.
In your X_List controlfile, you should have a statement like:
UserAdjust ADJUST.CTL % SJ adjuster ctrl-file.
Then X_List will create (or append) an ADJUST.CTL file, which
ADJUST will use as input to properly adjust your users
upload/download.
Typical use is:
X_LIST MYCTL
ADJUST
Assuming that your userfile and ADJUST.CTL is in the current
directory.
ADJUST.CTL is always erased when ADJUST finishes processing.
This version of ADJUST automatically senses whether you're
running QuickBBS or Opus. It has been tested with QuickBBS 2.03,
RemoteAccess 0.04, Maximus 1.02 ,Opus 1.03 and Opus 1.13.

Adjust V 2.12 - (C) DAK Ltd. - 1988 - 1990.
There's a couple of options available for instructing ADJUST
about where to find its files and what mode to run in:
-A<file> Path and filename for adjust file made by X_List
-O Opus 1.03/Maximus 1.02 mode
-N Opus 1.10 mode
-Q QuickBBS/RemoteAccess mode
-A<file> just points to and names the adjustment file created by
X_List. Sample use: -Ac:\qbbs\x_list\adjust.ctl ADJUST
will by default search for ADJUST.CTL in the current
directory.
-O overrides ADJUST's userfile AutoSense<tm pending> and
tells ADJUST that you run Opus version 1.03 or Maximus
version 1.02. If your user file isn't in the current
directory, you can supply the path and name to the
userfile immediately following the -O -
Sample: -Oc:\opus\users\user.bbs
-N overrides ADJUST's userfile AutoSense<tm pending> and
tells ADJUST that you run Opus version 1.10. If your
user file isn't in the current directory, you can
supply the path and name to the userfile immediately
following the -N -
Sample: -Nc:\opus\users\user.dat
-Q also overrides ADJUST's userfile AutoSense, but tells
ADJUST that you run QuickBBS or Remote Access. If your
user file isn't in the current directory, you can
supply the path and name to the userfile immediately
following the -Q -
Sample: -Qc:\qbbs\hidden\users.bbs
Normally you shouldn't have to use any of the switches.
ADJUST doesn't create a backup of the userfile - you may want to
do that yourself before running it.
NOTE: It is perfectly normal that ADJUST claims that it can't
find the ADJUST.CTL file. X_List creates it only if necessary
and you may only see it every once in a while, depending on
how well behaved your users are and how busy a system you run.
Have fun!
